PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM

After introducing basic concepts through concrete theories, children will be exposed to abstract theories. We incorporate child development methods in addition to Montessori apparatus.

Language Exercises: Alphabet, phonetic sounds, consonants, phonetic reading and writing, irregular or sight words, phonograms and blends. Storytelling, poetry and creative drama to improve vocabulary
Mathematics: Numbers, Use of Numerals, Math concepts such as Additions, Subtractions, Multiplications, Divisions, Wholes, Halves and quarters.
Science: Fun activities for analysis, hypothesis, and predictions. Animal observations, human bodily functions and botanical studies with practical experiments
Cultural Studies:
  • Geography: Land, water, and air. Regions of the world, Geo-modes and geographical puzzles
  • History: Family tree, timeline, American history. Diversity with regional celebrations, clothes, food and beliefs
Visual & Performing Arts: Magnet schools have integrated visual and performing arts into their core curriculum, as they increase the skills of comprehension & problem solving. Following State standards, we offer Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts.
Arts & Crafts:

Discovers the power of one’s mind and creativity improving patience, motor skills and ability in thought expressions. We provide instructions, guidance and assistance with essential materials and tools.

  • Art: Pastel painting, colored pencils, water coloring & hand painting etc.
  • Crafts: We use materials found around the house like paper, strings, and glue. They will learn how to make seasonal, regional and general crafts.
Practical Life Exercises: Usage of common tools to practice day-to-day skills. These activities develop child’s physical and social skills with fine motor movements that involve the body, intellect and will.
Sensorial Exercises: Exposure to shape, form, color, texture, sound, smell, taste, and weight to expand their sensorial capacity.
Physical Activities: Promotion of health consciousness, exposure to different sports and participation responsiveness through strength building and cardiovascular activities. Weekly YOGA is added!!!
Computer Studies: We use age-appropriate tools and software to illustrating positive usage of computers.

In the Summer:

Still, we do our “Curriculum in Summer Style”, because during the school year; our kids work so hard to learn new information!!! We conduct our morning circle time as usual. Kids who read and write spend few minutes to keep those skills in check.

  • Creative Activities: Music, Dance, Art & Crafts, Pretend Play etc.,
  • Fun Activities: Puppet Shows, Roleplay, Drama through stories etc.,
  • Water Activities: Water Games, Water play and Bubble Pop
  • Adventurous: Back yard Camping, walks for Bug hunting, observation and reporting.
